 We are looking for an Occupational Therapist specializing in hand or Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our team.   We treat a highly motivated patient population ranging from high school, collegiate, and professional athletes to those in the community wanting to restore their normal way of life. You have the opportunity to work closely with orthopedic surgeons and have direct access to our same day orthopedic urgent care. 

Job Description
The Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)  works directly with our fellowship trained hand surgeon and is responsible for organizing and conducting medically prescribed evaluation and treatment to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part. This includes highly specialized knowledge and skills in evaluating, assessing and treating upper extremity/hand dysfunction. The Occupational Therapist/CHT develops a plan of treatment with measurable functional and rehabilitative goals to restore independence and functional capacity. Must perform age/diagnosis appropriate evaluation and re-assessment methods specialized for the upper extremity and hand.
The Occupational Therapist/CHT posses advanced skills and training to fabricate splints, other custom restorative devices and ergonomics.

Minimum Qualifications:
1.       Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree as an Occupational Therapist from an institution accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Occupational Therapy Education.
2.       Certification in hand therapy optional
3.       Basic knowledge HIPAA and OSHA Compliance
4.       Efficient in the use of EMR, scheduling software and standard office equipment

Licensure Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Current Idaho State Occupational Therapist License
  • Current CPR certification

  • Must be self motivated and possess the ability to work independently in a collaborative setting.
Computer/Office Skills
  • Ability to use standard office equipment including personal computers, telephones, copiers and fax machines.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Prefers experience with electronic documentation software and literature search engines
Work Environment
  • Orthopedic Physical Therapy Institute operates in a professional office environment.  Days and hours of work are conducted Monday thru Friday during normal business hours.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Orthopedic Physical Therapy Institute has multiple locations and travel may be required.
